The K-pop band will preview “THE SHOW,’ their upcoming YouTube live stream concert experience.
Recently, the YouTube record-breaking international K-pop group BLACKPINK guested on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden. The group gave their fans a glimpse of what to expect to see and hear on their upcoming exclusive live stream concert experience on YouTube called “THE SHOW.”
BLACKPINK had a chat with Corden from the concert venue located in Seoul, Korea. This allowed them to give fans a glimpse of their performance.
More About “THE SHOW”
THE SHOW is the very first live stream concert by BLACKPINK. It also signifies the first time that the girl group will perform multiple songs from their album called “THE ALBUM.”
THE ALBUM is a critically acclaimed album released in October 2020 on YG Entertainment / Interscope Records. BLACKPINK and YouTube publicized the details about THE SHOW in early December. They were hoping to perform for BLINKS — their fanbase — before 2020 ends. But due to the COVID-19 safety precautions and restrictions in South Korea, it was rescheduled to January 30, at 9 P.M. PST / January 31 at 12 A.M EST / 2 P.M KST.
In addition, the K-pop group revealed that THE SHOW will have Rosé, one of their band members, debut a track from her upcoming solo music for the first time.
As mentioned, THE SHOW was originally supposed to be released in December. This is because the K-pop group wanted to end 2020 with something that is very special for their BLINKS who have been patiently waiting for them.
In a press statement, BLACKPINK said that they hope all their fans would be able to comfortably enjoy their very first YouTube live stream concert at hope. They were also hoping that viewers will join in on the special perks that they have prepared for the people who would join their channel.
BLACKPINK: Who Are They
There is no doubt that BLACKPINK is an undeniable force right now. In fact, there isn’t probably anyone who does not know who this Korean girl group is. They have taken the music industry by storm and were able to create a significantly huge fanbase. Many in Korea refer to them as the most successful group to ever buy YouTube views.
BLACKPINK boasts more than 30 million followers on Instagram, a historic MTV VMAs win, as well as five Guinness World Records. They were formed by YG Entertainment in 2010. However, it was not until 2016 when they released their first single album titled “Square One.”
The K-pop sensation has four members. The first one who signed up as a trainee in 2010 was Jennie. She was 14 years old at that time. In addition, she was also the first one to be confirmed as a member of the group.
In 2011, Lisa, a Thai rapper was signed on as the second trainee. The third member, Jisoo also became a trainee during the same year before landing a spot in the group.

Moreover, the group’s sound is mainly a mixture of K-pop, hip hop, and EDM. But some of their tracks, such as “As If It’s Your Last” were described as a “mixed genre of music.”
The K-pop sensations have already collaborated with a number of famous names. “The Album,” BLACKPINK’s latest release, features Selena Gomez on the song “Ice Cream.” In addition, their song “Bet You Wanna” features a collaboration with female rapper Cardi B.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK was also featured in a number of albums done by some of the biggest music stars of today. “Chromatica,” Lady Gaga’s album, featured the K-pop group on the song “Sour Candy.”
In 2018, BLACKPINK worked with Dua Lipa, an English singer, on the song called “Kiss and Make Up.”
BLACKPINK has also made history when they performed at the Coachella Festival back in 2019. They were the very first female K-pop group to perform at the said event.
According to Jennie, the first time they knew that they would be performing at Coachella, it felt unreal for them. The group cannot forget the moment that they stepped on stage and saw the large number of audience. During that moment, they felt that people were really listening to their music. In addition, they thank that experience as it allowed them to get a lot of energy. It also made them feel that their fans love them.
Their performance in Coachella served as a time for growth for the K-pop group . They said that it was very precious for them and that they will always remember that moment.
BLACKPINK on Netflix
Meanwhile, the Korean girl group has a Netflix documentary titled “Light Up The Sky.” You may want to give it a second glance if you have already scrolled past it. This documentary gives you a better understanding of the story behind the rise to fame of these four ladies. It follows the individual journey of each of the BLACKPINK’s members. In addition, it also provides some insight into their childhood, as well as how they grew up to become members of a very successful band.
But even before their Netflix documentary, the K-pop group already had a reality show known as Blackpink House. This show originally aired in January 2018 on a South Korean TV station. It follows the four members as they live together in one dorm.
