“He was an amazing husband and the best father those girls could have ever asked for. It saddens me deeply that they will never get to know him truly. He was so young and had so much more life to live. This isn’t how things were supposed to go.” These were the words that Camryn Clifford wrote on her Instagram after she announced the death of her young husband, who committed suicide.

Camryn Clifford, Landon Clifford’s wife, 19, informed their nearly 1.5 million subscribers that her husband hanged himself due to depression and drug addiction that he had for years.

The 19-year-old wife and mother talked about her husband’s death in a 36-minute long video. They said the video is posted on their famous YouTube channel called Cam&Fam.

Can YouTube Cure Depression and Drug-Use?

In the emotional video entitled “My Husband Passed Away/Telling His Story,” Camryn talked about the details of Landon hanging himself in their garage after he told her that he was going to take a bath. She also told their followers how she cut the rope hanging her husband with a knife before calling 911. There are many myths about buying views on YouTube, but what about these other myths?

Moreover, Landon stayed in a coma for six days before his doctors declared that he was already brain dead on August 18.

Camryn also talked about the mental health issues that her husband suffered from. According to her, Landon suffered from depression and anxiety. Also, he has ADHD, which he suffered from since he was a child. She also said that her husband has struggled with his emotions and how his brain was wired his whole life.

Moreover, Landon has been seeing a psychiatrist for his depression, panic attacks, and difficulty focusing before his death. He was also taking three medications.

What If YouTube Leads To Depression and Drug-Use?

Camryn told their subscribers that the medications were powerful, heavy, and addicting that it acted kind of like a lethal mixture, and Landon fell into a hole. She also explained that Landon needed the uppers to get up every morning and downers to slow down every night. However, the more downers he took at night, the more uppers he needed in the morning. This is why his medications are a very vicious cycle. Landon needed to take higher dosages each time for his body to feel its effects.

The young couple has two daughters. Their first child Collette Briar is two years old while Delilah Rose, their youngest, was born in May.

After their youngest was born, Camry said that they were hit by the reality that they now have to look after two kids. For this reason, the two of them took a short break from each other. Landon stayed with his parents, hoping to stop his prescription drug habit. When he came back home, he was only taking anti-depressants.

Landon Hanged Himself in Their Home’ Garage

Camryn sensed that there was something wrong with Landon on August 13.

According to her, Landon apologized to her for everything that he put her through. Camryn admitted that it was tough for her when she was pregnant, and he was heavy with his addiction, and he was not himself during those times. She also sensed that he was putting a lot of blame on himself, so she told him that she loved him. Camryn also said that she has already forgiven him, and things are different then. She said that she gave her husband a hug and a kiss and told him that she loves him.

After that, Landon told his wife that he was going to take a bath. Half an hour later, Camryn noticed that Collete had woken up, so she went to check on her and Landon. However, she did not find him in his room, their daughters’ room, or the bathroom.

Camryn then went to the garage. The moment that she opened its door, she saw that Landon had hanged himself. She said that she was too shocked that it took her a second before realizing it was actually happening.

Landon then ran into the kitchen to get a knife and cut the rope that hanged Landon. She then called 911, and the first responders were able to revive her husband. However, Landon had been without oxygen for too long, which caused him to be in a coma for almost a week before he died.

Camryn Opened Up About Landon’s Death in Hopes that She Could Help Others Who are Suffering From the Same Situation

Furthermore, Camryn revealed that Landon was a registered organ donor. He always put the other people above himself that he was caring for them even in his death.

She decided to tell people about her husband’s death in hopes that their story could help other people who are facing the same situation as theirs.

Camryn ended that 36-minute long video saying that if Landon knew everything that would happen after he committed suicide, he would not have done what he did. This is the reason why she told their subscribers about his story. She knows that there are many people out there who need to hear about what comes after.

Depression has always been a serious topic. Unfortunately, some people in society are not taking it seriously, thinking that this mental illness is not real. But the truth is that depression and other mental illnesses are real, and many people are suffering from them. This is why we need to be kind to everyone we meet.

Due to the discrimination they face, people with depression choose to hide in the dark instead of seeking help. This is also the same reason they suffer alone even though some people around them are willing to lend a hand. No one knows what is going on in other people’s minds. For this reason, we need to show kindness instead of judging others.
